differing styles of learning)
Collaborative learning
- Fluency developed through group learning
Cultural Understanding

Many of the articles in the MAPE Focus on MFL have been written by practising teachers and are based on actual classroom experiences. Topics covered include:
- A report from CILT (formerly the Centre for Information on Language Teaching and Research) on the Early Learning Language Initiative
- Reports on the Becta MFL Project
- Ideas for starting a French club and setting up a Spanish Mums' night.
- Information about how to insert accents into documents from your keyboard
- Details of useful websites and resources and much more!
The article entitled ‘French revolution’ by Julia Duffy from Ballakermeen High School is of particular interest, as it provides practical examples of useful resources such as the ‘Essential French’ and ‘French Expressions’ CD ROMs from Vektor, ‘Boardworks’ and ‘Spellmaster’ activities. There are also screenshots of home-grown resources made using ‘SMART Notebook’ software and PowerPoint.
