eLanguages
The use of ICT and the development of intercultural awareness, whether through investigation of the richness of other cultures or sharing perceptions of the world with fellow pupils abroad, are key components of the new secondary curriculum and eLanguages is an excellent tool for exploring and developing these aspects of language learning.
It is really quick and easy to use eLanguages, whether you are simply looking for good project ideas, or an international project to join. If you want to find language-specific projects, just use the excellent search facility to browse all relevant projects: you can search by country or age group too. If you decide to go ahead and join a project or set up your own there is excellent guidance and a wide range of ICT available to really get pupils involved.
In addition to creating photo galleries, and posting presentations, pupils can also share podcasts online, video clips and communicate via discussion boards. The Digital Toolbox guides you through the best ways to use the site, while the regularly updated model projects exemplify best practice.
The Project Toolkit, developed in collaboration with CILT, is an easy-to-use step-by-step practical guide for all those engaged in planning and managing projects, whether with a partner school abroad or as an action research project. Use this to help focus your thinking and planning and to take your project to a successful conclusion.
