Global CALL

Since computers entered the modern languages classroom there has been strong interest in many countries in the ways Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) can improve performance amongst learners. A worldwide community of teachers and researchers is dedicated to using new technologies to enhance the learning of modern languages and confront the many issues that remain to be explored. It is easy to use the Internet to learn from others and to join a global community of like-minded teachers.

Useful sites

ICT4LT 
A comprehensive site on ICT issues in the teaching and learning of modern foreign languages. Here you will find links to many leading associations and journals plus news of current developments and the latest research.

EUROCALL
The European Association for Computer Assisted Language Learning promotes research, and the establishment of good practice in the use of ICT for language learning. On its site you can find online articles from its journal, Special Interest Groups (SIG's), and links to resources and news.

E-learning Europa 
A portal established by the European Commission to promote the use of multimedia technologies and Internet in education and training.

ECML European Centre for Modern Languages, Council of Europe 
There are links to resources, publications and the many activities undertaken by the ECML in promoting the learning of languages.

The ICC – The European Language Network
The European Language Network brings together people from different countries and cultures in joint activities and projects.
