
The Languages ICT website is now closed.
The Languages ICT website was created by CILT, the National Centre for Languages in collaboration with the Association for Language Learning (ALL) in 2004 with funding from the DfES (now the Department for Education). The content was enriched by the input of many colleagues in schools, including our Languages ICT Action Researchers, and CILT and ALL would like to take this opportunity to thank colleagues for all their ideas and hard work. The website also benefited from a series of Becta-funded projects which allowed key resources to be added to keep up with the fast-changing world of ICT. Since 2008, however, no funding has been available to update the site or maintain quality assurance.
As a result, and following a review of our online services and changes to CILT’s funding arrangements, the decision was taken to withdraw the Languages ICT website.
ICT will continue to be a key component of CILT’s CPD offer to schools and some Languages ICT materials will be repurposed. Colleagues may be interested to explore some of the other online resources available which provide or include an ICT and languages focus, such as:
