Introduction | Using ICT effectively: video case studies | Digital video in action | Action Research
Developing critical skills and reaching a wider audience
The final stage of the project was to develop evaluation criteria so that the class could select the best photo stories to be placed on the school’s internal television network, thus bringing the class’s work to the attention of the whole school while providing a real purpose and validity to the task. The ways in which ICT was used over the course of the project: • enabled pupils to gain confidence in using the target language; • gave pupils the opportunity to both reinforce learning and manipulate language in a freer more creative and personal way. The photo story software is extremely adaptable and easy to use and provides a structure for creative activities: learning can be personalised and independent but also guided. Joanne feels that this project has helped her to focus more clearly on the use of ICT to improve learning.
